Pigeons Follow Up - Group A - By Tiare

Here is a Reading Follow Up that Victoria, Mishaan, Manu, Fifita, Nesi and I created. In the last week we have been focusing on Pigeons as our Follow Up Challenge. We communicated in the activity by each one of us doing something different so we wouldn't be stuck doing the same one. We used teamwork and helped each other do things so it could be done properly. Sometimes we had to go over some sentences because they didn't make sense but in the end we got them done. After we had finished doing our opinions we went outside by the playground and with the help of Latham he filmed us saying our opinions.

Here is some photo's of sketch note. The first sketch note was Athletes, then it was questions, Then we did Rio, and the last sketch note we did was Olympic Medals. Sketch note helped us understand the learning because no body else had to understand it only yourself, you could either do it in words or pictures.
Our LI: Create a sketch note to recall information in our own words or pictures.
Sketch note helps us to keep ourselves focused and listen, you could make up a story using pictures that you can retell.

Here is our Current Events DLO. It tells you Who, What, When, Where, Why And How. It has our point of view and what the author wanted us to learn from the article. Also what we felt after reading the article. 

Deduction Trapped - By Tiare

Here are some screenshots of the reading game I was playing. It tells you how to play the game. What you have to do is try and get free. What you do is it will either give you a question or an opinion. what you do is you have to put the right one in the place where the light is on and the other one goes in any of the dark places. It should automatically places the correct one in the spot but if you put the wrong one in the wrong place it won't let you put it there.

Here are my screenshots of the reading games that I have been doing. It tells you what you have to do to get to the place that it wants you to go to. I started from the scrap yard then the skate park, then the main road, the cafe and then I ended up at the cinema in 5 steps. After you press go you will get a message once you have completed either saying great those are the right places or no those don't match.

Here is a Current Events DLO that Evelyn and I created. We were talking about World Refugee Day. Children who are refugee's makes us feel very sad because they are either surrounded by war or somewhere where they cannot have peace. We think that kids struggle because they are not in an good environment.

Here is my Pollution in China DLO. It tells you that smog is a very deadly disease that is caused by smoke and fog. People have to wear masks that doctors wear in the hospital so they don't breathe in the germs from the smog.

Today, we did a Ballad poem. If you're not familiar with the word, then here's the meaning. A Ballad poem is a story told by a poem. The ballad poem is put into a video with 5 ballad poems as well. We completed tasks under the 6 thinking hats.

My Recommendation - By Tiare

Here is My Recommendation DLO. It tells you about the book the I recommend, I picked the book Kiss Kiss Yuck Yuck. I liked this book because it is kind of like a funny sad story. Every time Andy would hide his Aunt Elsie would always find him and give him a kiss on both of his cheeks. Until one day when he was hiding he was waiting and waiting for Aunt Elsie would find him. He went inside and asked his dad about her and he said the she fell off a camel and broke her leg. So he waited for her to show up and it kind of took a couple of weeks then a car pulled up and it was Aunt Elsie so he ran along the path grabbed her gave her a kiss on the left and right cheek and said gotcha

Synthesizing - By Tiare

Here is my synthesising poster. Before I started synthesising with a poster I started off with a Tangram. We had to cut the pieces out and try and put them back together but in a different way. I changed my square into a candle. Then I created a cover for a biography of Anne Bonny using what I already knew about her and what I found out after researching. The new information helped me think about what her picture would look like, what the title might be and what background would match her achievements.

Which Flag Do You Pick - By Tiare

Today, LS2 were thinking about changing the flag. Everyone had different opinion´s. Some people voted for the old flag and some people voted for the new flag. My opinion was that the flag should not change because it costs lots of money and that money could be used else where, it is kind of disrespecting the soldiers who fought under New Zealand official flag, it has been that flag for a long time now and I don want it to change and it has been recognized world wide.
