Fraction Strategies - By Nazella & Tiare

Here is a Fraction DLO. It tells you 3 different kinds of strategies. Once we had finished doing our book work, we did a DLO about different strategies people would use to solve fractions, for example.

2/5 of 25 = 10

What I did first was skip count in 5's until I got to 25, then I do division so that would give me 5 then I skip count in 5's 2 times then it would give me the answer which was 10.

This strategy could help me for a lot of things such as sharing a bar of chocolate if people want some or even pizza. I feel very proud of myself, now that I know how to use fractions, I could use them where ever and when ever.

Using Our 5 Times Tables In Maths - By Tiare

Here is my DLO about using our 5 times tables. It tells you what I did to solve the equation. I did 2 strategy's and our learning Intention. Our Learning Intention is To answer our 6,7, and 8 times tables by using our 5 times tables.

Mathletics With Miss Donaldson - By Tiare

Today Miss Donaldson planned a game for her entire maths group. It was just any game it was kind of like a running maths game it was called Mathletics. What we had to do was first go down to the courts and wait right in the middle where the little circle was. Then once we were ready Miss Donaldson gave every group a piece of paper that either had 3 questions or one. what they had to do was run to the end of the court near LS1 and back to there partner to figure out the answer ran to either me or Miss Donaldson to see if they got the correct answer. I we told them that they got it right the would get a different question from Miss Donaldson but if we told them they got it wrong they would have to go back and figure out the correct answer by working it out on a piece of new print paper. The first four winners were Evelyn and Juanita, Then Mia and Zarha, Jessie and Cecillia and then Victoria and Ana. Some people got confused so Miss Donaldson gave them some help and then they started catching up but unfortunately they didn't catch up quick enough. I was helping Miss Donaldson answering the questions or more like seeing if they got the right questions or not.

Prototec Basic Facts Maths - By Tiare

Here is my Prototec Basic Facts Maths. It tells you that I am in LS2, I have achieved 88%, I was on stage 5 and I finished in 4 minutes and 49 seconds. I think I have achieved since the last time I did Prototec Maths. I feel very proud of myself because I am improving every time and it is great.

Prototec Basic Facts/Maths - By Tiare

Here is my Prototec Basic Facts Maths certificate. It tells you that I was on stage 5, I achieved 91% and I did it in less than 5 minutes and 31 seconds. I feel very proud of myself because as I do my maths I improve on it better and better. 

Xtramath - By Tiare

Here is my XtraMath race the teacher. When I raced the teacher and finished I got 84 and I felt proud of myself.

Xtramaths

Here is my Xtramath that I had did. I had raced the teacher on this one and got 62 answers correct. Some of them were quite tricky so I just tried to remember the answers in my head that way I good get the correct answer throughout the race with the teacher. 

Flash Tables

Here is my Flash Tables. You have to answer them quickly an example: 3 x 6 = 18 you can't type it in you have to think of what it is and see if you get it correct.

Table Conga

Here is my Tables Conga that I have done. You had to do it in your seven's like 7 14 21 28 you had to do that until you got up to a certain number like 70.

Here is my Maths DLO. It shows a comparison of my blog posts for February - May over the last three years. I can see that I need to try harder to post my completed work. To help me achieve this I have set a weekly blog post target of 5 blog posts.

Painting

1. Are you pleased with your painting? why / why not?

Yes because I did really good in my work, because I stayed inside the lines.

2. What did you find easy when you created your painting?

I found it easy to mix colours together and paint them in each section.

3. What part did you find tricky when you were creating your painting? -think about painting, ruling up the grid, measuring, using the co-ordinates, etc.

I found it tricky to paint in the small lines, I also found it hard to drawing the grid lines.

4. Who / What helped you when you were painting?

Jasmine and Lavinia helped me draw and measure up my grid lines. Miss Nichol and Miss Paton helped me mix up my paints.

5. What would you do differently next time? Think about: colours, painting, ruling up, etc.

Next time I would use a different colour because I would like my painting to be more colourful next time.   

6. What frustrated you when you created your painting?

I got frustrated because it was hard using a thick brush and keeping it steady.

My News Quiz Results by Tiare

During the past 8 weeks I have been completing the quizzes but getting some low numbers like 40%, 30% or lower. Then I was improving and getting 100% but sometimes getting low scores. This week I have scored 100%
