Here is a DLO that I created which is about Hyperbole. It shows you examples of a hyperbole or a literal. At first I didn't really get what a hyperbole is but it is exaggerating a sentence which is not meant to be taken seriously.

Speech Child Abuse - By Tiare

Good Morning Students

Today I will be talking about Child Abuse why are parents like this.

If you have know idea of what it is, it is when a parent or adult causes serious physical or emotional harm to a child. Is this good for children do you think that this should happen to children. It is not fair for parents to have to always hurt their children. If I were to watch television and seen a video clip that showed abusive things happening to a child I would literally start crying. Parents shouldn't treat their children like they are wild, parents should treat their children like any other parent would. Why do they do this I just don't get it. Would you like it if you came home every night and had to be treated in any sort of hurtful way I'm pretty sure you wouldn't. Children die everyday of abuse or neglect.It is so sad to hear that they are getting treated badly. It is not fair to any child for them to live short it is not right. They should at least live until they are in their 30's or 40's. Back in the day you were allowed to smack kids, in these days you are not allowed to. I think that it is a good law because it is not a good environment for children whose parents are treating them like animals.

If you are someone who has seen things on social media like YouTube and you've seen children abusively hurt how do you feel watching them get hurt or even crying. I feel upset because they are getting treated in a very very very harmful way. Why does this have to happen to them it might be because their parents grew up in a very disappointing or upset home life. Do you think that parents abusively hurt their child because they had a bad home life, I don't no. All children should be treated with love and affection because it is better than getting treated like their not in this world. What is your opinion about child abuse do you think it's okay, do you think that children should be treated like their are important, I do, do you. Sometimes I can think of one way children are important. In my head I can think of children with their family's watching their favorite movie and having fun, but I can not picture children with their family's and getting abusively hurt it is just wrong.

Here is my speech about Child Abuse. It tells you information about child abuse and how sad it is to hear that children are getting abusively hurt. I wonder why parents would do such a thing. It also tells you about how they are important.

Shoe Narative - By Gozan, Mya and Tiare

I was woken up by the sunlight flashing in my eyes. All of a sudden I heard footsteps coming closer and closer to my box. I felt depressed as the owner grabbed me and jumped right inside. I went outside and the sun was glaring in my eyes then I heard a voice. The voice was screaming “You guys come closer we don’t  bite”. We knew that it was a bad idea to go closer towards the puddle of mud.

Here is my Narrative about an old pair of tattered shoes. They first started out as a new pair who liked to do things and follow each other. Then as they the person that was holding them they started to rip and collapse as they felt like they weren't able to hold themselves together.

Dog Report - By Tiare

Dogs are one of my favourite animals. They can be your best friend. I think dogs are a lot of fun. There are different kinds of dogs but they all need food, special equipment and care.

There are lots of different kinds of dogs. Dogs come in all sorts of different breeds, some dogs are mixed breeds. Some of the most well known breeds are: German Shepherd, Poodle, Spaniel, Labrador, and Boxer. Sometimes mixed breeds have some funny names. For example if you cross a Labrador and a poodle you have a labradoodle.

Lots of different types of dogs eat different things. Some dogs like to eat jelly meat, dog rolls, and biscuits. It depends whether or not they eat the sort of food you give them. Dogs might be allergic or even have a allergic reaction. You have to make sure that you get the right food for your dog.

Dogs have equipment for example a collar and a leash. You always need a collar and a leash because sometimes you might think to yourself about taking your dog to the park for some exercise. Sometimes people like to buy more equipment to keep their dog healthy. Such as bedding, tunnel, dog log, and a over and under.

Everyone who has a dog needs to be able to take good care of them with special treatments so they can be healthy. If you dog has fleas you need to get treatment that can kill the fleas and they will no longer be scratching.

In conclusion, all the different kinds of dogs need food, equipment and care, and they are all a lot of fun. Dogs can be your best friend so that is why they are one of my favourite animals.

School Trouble

School Trouble

2 years ago was difficult because my teacher told me to write what I did on the weekend and it was hard to do because I couldn’t really remember and I felt really scared because I thought I would get in trouble for not doing anything in the time I was suppose to do it. Then my teacher started coming around to check our work and when she checked my work I had to stay in at lunch time to do it with the teacher to finish it off. When I finished my work I didn’t feel scared anymore.

Here is a short story or recount that 2 people in room 9 wrote. It tells you things about trouble at school that is why it is called school truble.

Anzac Letter

Dear Mum

I can hardly get any sleep here with the shooting going on throughout the night. Never was there a minute of silence over here. Days passed without any sleep for me and many other soldiers in this war. Sleeping on this hard soil is unbearable, sometimes I think that death would take the pain and misery away from me. But the thought of returning home and seeing my beloved family again motivates me to keep going.

Many soldiers eat food like hard tack biscuits, moldy cheese and have condensed milk in their porridge and only had 2L of water. They don’t get a lot of food but at least they get fed enough food. We also have coffee to keep us hydrated.

Since I’ve been here I’ve felt so stressed out. I’m forgetting the whole reason of this dreadful war. Many soldiers feel the same way. Sometimes it’s hard not to get scared in front of everyone because you might be embarrassed and you're probably claimed to be the bravest.

1 year ago I went to Australia with my nana because she was looking for a job and she wanted me to come with her so I went and when we left to go to Australia I started crying because I didn’t want to leave my mum and dad but I had to because my nana already booked the ticket so when we left we got to Australia and it was so hot because the weather was so hot that when I started living with my uncle I had to stay inside because it was way to hot outside. When my nana woke-up in the morning she decided to fast for a few days hoping she would get the job she hoped for.Then a few days later someone rang her and she did get the job and her job was to help people that needed the help like old people and every morning she has to wake-up at 4:00am and leave at 5:15am so she always has to leave me in the morning’s but sometimes she’s still in the shower when I wake-up but sometimes I just stay sleeping and wait until it’s time to wake-up. When she came home 1 day she also had to try and put me into school so she decided to put me in the same school as my cousin his school name was Kinsley Primary School so my aunt took my nana and me to go and see what the school would be like nan said it would be okay so then my nan asked if she could fill in some enrolment papers so she could in roll me in school. So the next I got ready for school and nan left for work as normal. After a few months went past we were all settling in well so we lived there for almost a year, but then in november I asked my nan if I could go home because I was missing my mum and dad so I started crying so she started thinking about it then she said maybe so a few days later she went to book our flight while I was at school and when I came home she told me that I was going home in December the 16th and I felt really happy that I was going home but didn’t want to wait that long in Australia because it’s really hot and it’s not that hot in New Zealand really.When December came I was so excited because I was going home soon and I really wanted to see my mum and dad and some more family I just wanted to go home so when that day came I came home and I saw my mum and dad and I felt really happy to see them and to be home again.

Should Panmure.Bridge.School. have a cafeteria?

Should Panmure.Bridge.School. have a cafeteria?

I believe that Panmure Bridge School should have a cafeteria because there can be healthy food, it can save time and save money.

Firstly, cafeteria food can be healthier food more than the supermarket foods, in the cafeteria the cafeteria can sell things like sandwiches, salads and fruits. I also believe that Panmure Bridge School should have a cafeteria because cafeteria food is good, it is good for your  health and it is fresh for you. Some children might be a little overweight and health foods in school could be a good way to address this issue.

Secondly, It is quicker than buying your lunch, you can buy it at school in the cafeteria so you don’t have to waste time in the morning making your lunch or buying junk food, for example if you’re making lunch at home and your school has a cafeteria you don’t need to waste your time making it. You can just go to school wait until morning tea or lunch time and you can just buy some lunch instead of wasting your time, your foods will also be a lot fresher and better for you.

Thirdly, If you have a cafeteria at school it can save your parents lots of money and the school can also make lots of money as well. If your parents  give you some money to pay for your food students wouldn't waste time making their lunch at home and hopefully this would make them on time for school.

This is why I believe Panmure Bridge School should have a cafeteria, because it’s healthy, it’s saves money for the school and your parents and you don’t have to waste time making your lunch at home. Hopefully my main ideas will persuade you to want to grow up healthy and strong and eat healthy foods as much as you can.
