Buddy Reading With R3/4 - By Tiare

Today LS2 did buddy reading with Rm 3 and 4. Before both classes came in some students in LS2 already picked the person that they wanted to work with. The others let had to find one to work with. What the LS2 people had to do was read the book to them and once they finished reading the book to the little people they then had to give them questions about the book. For example What is your book called?, Who was in your story?, What happened in your story?, Which picture did you like best?, Show me your favourite page?, If you could be one character, which one would it be?, Did you enjoy reading this book? and or who was your favourite character and why?. 

Book Character Dress Up Parade Panmure Bridge School - By Tiare

Today was Book Character Dress Up. The Junior's were doing it first so they decided if the seniors could join in with the dress up parade to. You had an option you could either come in a costume or come in your uniform if you didn't want to take part. Most people in LS2 and 1 dressed up some dressed in there 1z's like Mrs Milward. I want to thank Mrs Milward for organizing it and setting it up. The costume I liked most was Paige who was cat woman. When we went to assembly we were spoken by Gangsta granny. I really liked her speech because she would act like she couldn't walk properly and when she finished she gave out books. I think was a cool book character parade and we should do it again another time.

25 Word Paragraph (Advertising) - By Tiare

Here is my DLO of a 25 Word Paragraph (Advertising). What we had to do was explain in 25 words what advertising was, the purpose of advertising and the language features. As a group we all thought that advertisements influence us to buy their products, the purpose of advertisements is because they want to sell and they use rhetorical questions that makes us think like them, but they don;t give us the important messages like how much it would be to get it or buy it.

Leadership With Lynne Le Gros - By Tiare

Yesterday, LS2 had a leadership woman from Spark Foundation come in. Her name was Lynne Le Gros, she came because it was leadership week which was Sir Peter Blake trust. We had to list two or one role model that we look up to and why. It could be from our family, Sports or even world leaders. Once we finished writing it down we got a piece of paper that said #believeyoucan. It told you to write down your name, what your dream is and what you wanted New Zealand to be like. My dream was to be a singer and fit with the royal family like Paris Global. The person who was taught by Miss Kirkpatrick. The for what I wanted for New Zealand I said that I wanted to help the environment, because there's always rubbish lying around the place. After we had finished we gave the piece of paper to Miss Kirkpatrick so that at the end of the year she would give it back to us and we would look back at what we wrote. Then we all got a bag, a drink bottle, a notebook, a hat and a pen.

Orienteering - Year 8 And Year 7

Here is some photo's of the Orienteering (Year 8 and Year 7). The starting point was sort of like the finishing point. I think Orienteering is a very easy but at the same time hard thing or sport to do. You have to run past the one that is on your list and go for the one that you need and then by the time you finished getting the one you need you need to run back in the same direction that you came to get the one you went past. Some people did it by themselves and some did it with a partner. I did mine with a partner. My partner was Evelyn. Some people think working together is better and some people think working by yourself is better. Well the people that think working with someone is better is because when they are tired their partner who isn't tired does the running to the stamp. The rest of them who say that working by them self is easier is because they think they get the job done quicker without someone to help them. Then we had a conclusion the people that were still doing it was Sylis and Calvin, they looked really puffed out I don't think they liked it very much by the look of there face. Evelyn and I finished in 22 minutes on the dot.

Deduction Trapped - By Tiare

Here are some screenshots of the reading game I was playing. It tells you how to play the game. What you have to do is try and get free. What you do is it will either give you a question or an opinion. what you do is you have to put the right one in the place where the light is on and the other one goes in any of the dark places. It should automatically places the correct one in the spot but if you put the wrong one in the wrong place it won't let you put it there.

Here are some photo's of the Get Wise with Jeremy. He talked about different paths ways which was called crossroads. You can either make the choice of the easy way or the hard way. For example if you take the easy way you could just do nothing for your self and sadly pass on but if you take the hard way you can push yourself or even challenge yourself to be the best person their is. After he talked about the crossroads he talked about college and what kind of jobs you could do, like chores, neighborhood jobs or even sell and trade. But he said people that are CEO's would of started at a supermarket or cafe/restaurant.

Here is my Writing Game that I did. It tells you a letter to a sunburned gymnast who always get in trouble from her parents. It is a fun game because you get to spin the wheel and it was give you a sentence of either what you have to do. My one was to give a letter to the sunburned gymnast who always gets in trouble with her parents.

Here are my screenshots of the reading games that I have been doing. It tells you what you have to do to get to the place that it wants you to go to. I started from the scrap yard then the skate park, then the main road, the cafe and then I ended up at the cinema in 5 steps. After you press go you will get a message once you have completed either saying great those are the right places or no those don't match.

Life Ed - By Tiare

Today the year 8's went to life education. We were studying about the body system and how we need to take care of it. It was the first session. We were all talking about the nervous system (nerves/reactions), the circulatory system (blood), the muscular system (muscles) and the 5 senses. First we were talking about what shape is our heart. Some students said that it was the shape of a love heart and some students said it was the shape of our fists. I say that it is the shape of our fists. Why does the year 8's have different opinions. I think it is because they usually see different kinds of hearts on the internet. After we moved on to different other body parts. When we were coming to our conclusion we played a game. The game was to get in two lines facing the front, one teacher would be at the back and one teacher would be at the front. What you had to do was when the teacher at the back tapped both of the two students at the back the people in front of them they had to touch their shoulder until they get to the front of the line but closing their eyes and they had to slap the teachers had in front and then that them won.
